Airplanes and Constructed Vessels

My interest in airplanes and vessels of air and water extent to my childhood. Although there is no explanation other than a fascination with the design and purpose. The constructed vessels  I create are inspired  by what lies beneath the shell of the form. I chose not to cover the vessels,  but let the parts be the main focus and draw the viewer in through the weaving and constructed elements. The lines are curves connect to give the vessel volume without mass. My love of the curvilinear form pushes the abstract lines and geometric shapes towards lyrical and visual references of ocean waves, wind as in sails, flight, and winged creatures. My constructions, either as wall installations or stand alone, are harmonious in the way they gracefully flow like a beautiful dance and serenely become a part of the space. They do not scream with loud colors; but slowly envelop the environment in an organic and aesthetic way.
